Randall J. Olson, MD
John A. Moran Presidential Chair and Chair of the Department Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Olson specializes in corneal and external eye diseases and anterior segment disorders. His Department, known far and wide for its retinal physiology and basic genetics research, has been a leading force in the understanding of complications associated with intraocular lenses and is recognized internationally for this research. Research studies performed by Dr. Olson and his colleagues at the Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City have led to technical advances in corneal surgery, phacoemulsification and small incision cataract surgery. Named four times to "Best Doctors in America," he was recently selected as one of the fifteen top experts in the field of cataract surgery in the United States in a survey of his peers conducted by Ophthalmology Times Magazine. As of today, he is the author of more than 200 professional publications.
