Ellen Troyer has more than 40 years experience in medical science and professional education services. As one of the Biosyntrx founders, she has always led the product research, development and education activities. She was responsible for co-development and patenting of the first dry eye formulation in the nutraceutical arena. She has edited or written chapters in a number of health books, co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles, and has published over 650 weekly nutrition science / eye-disease-specific columns called Friday Pearls, as well as hundreds of Sunday Morning Stops at the Intersection of Science, Art, Music and Humanities.
Ms. Troyer is a member of The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), The Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS), The Society for Free Radical Biology and Medicine, Women in Ophthalmology and The New York Academy of Science, (NYAS). She is a member of the Natural Products Association and the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the Washington DC-based trade association representing the dietary supplement industry, as well as a founding executive board member of the Ocular Nutrition Society. Ms Troyer sits on the board of Ophthalmic Women Leaders (OWL), the executive board of AceVision, as well as the Professional Advisory Board for Macular Degeneration Support, the largest world-wide web-based community of AMD patients, the Scientific Advisory Board of the Hawaiian Eye Foundation, the Ophthalmic Office industry board, and the advisory boards of Fall Prevention Alliance,LLC and Just In Case, Inc. Ellen is passionate about science, art, music, humanities, family, friends, age management and difference making with IMPACT.
