Biosyntrx Gives Back

August 25, 2011

Colorado Springs, Colorado....April 7, 2011

The Biosyntrx founders, board of directors and staff believe in giving back to the communities the company serves.  A few of these educational non-profit organizations are:

1)  Biosyntrx supports with time and money MDSupport, the world's largest on-line community of Macular Degeneration patients.  Biosyntrx funds a free 900 number telephone program that provides call in audio access to the monthly live-on-line lecture for low vision patients presented by MDSupport in senior centers and public libraries all over the country.   This phone service has proven to be very popular for many older low-vision folks who don't have access to the internet.  For more information on this program visit www.mdsupport.org

2)  Biosyntrx  believes it benefits eye care professionals and their patients to be better educated about the role nutrition plays in both eye and full body health. Biosyntrx funds with time and money many of the education activities of The Ocular Nutrition Society over and above our Platinum level sponsorship.  www.ocularnutritionsociety.org

3)   Biosyntrx has committed to work with The Center for Science in the Public Interest on the 2011 Food Day project that encourages Americans to "Eat Real".  This will hopefully help reduce diet-related disease that the public can no longer afford. http://www.cspinet.org/

We were recently inspired by a talk we heard at the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Ophthalmic Women Leaders (OWL) meeting on providing resources for employees to give back to their local communities.  The Biosyntrx board has now approved an employee "giving back" program. Each Biosyntrx employee will have two paid days off a year to work for the community non-profit of their choice.  Thank you OWL for presenting this possibility.

Since we strongly believe in the importance of exercising our bodies and both sides of our brains,  Biosyntrx now supports the U.S. Olympic Team and the  Colorado Springs-based educational non-profit TAOJ: The Art of Jazz with time and money.

Biosyntrx believes that giving back to society is good corporate citizenship.  Giving back always provides benefits that exceed costs.  And fortunately, it's habit forming.
